All modern pecan crackers crack pecans one at a time, therefore, in order to truly determine the number of pecans that can be cracked per hour, The number of pecans in one pound must first be known.
Below, we have a drop box that contains the major pecan varieties. Each variety will have a number in parentheses next to it's name. This number is the accepted number of pecans per pound that the variety will typically produce. Select the appropriate variety name and click the Submit button.
We apologize if the variety that you are cracking is missing from the list. You may click here, to type in the number of pecans per pound for the variety that you are cracking. To determine the number of pecans per pound, weigh out one pound of inshell. Then, count the number of pecans in that pound. This is the number that you will type in when you use the alternative method.
