New information on the Modern Electronics Pecan Cracker.
This is a bank of 5 aspirators that removes shell from the pecan meat. We recommend that one "drop" of this machine remove shell before the product enters the sizer, and that the remaining drops remove shell at each of the sizer discharge chutes. This method allows for a much better shell removal than passing all of the product through one blower or aspirator.
The suction is provided by a single blower that can be installed outside of the building to reduce noise, and to practically eliminate dust in the shelling area. We recommend that the motor and blower be sheltered from the elements if it is mounted outside. The suction on each drop of the aspirator can be adjusted independently from the other in a way that allows for very precise shell removal.
Two motors are included with this machine. One is 110 VAC for the air lock. This motor is mounted directly to the machine. The other is 220 VAC, which is used for the suction blower, and is typically mounted outside of the shelling area. The unit may be mounted on legs, or may be suspended from the ceiling. Suspension from the ceiling is the standard installation method, therefore, the unit will not be sold with legs unless requested. 10 pieces of 10 foot long 3 inch pipe will be supplied for the suction drops. Each suction drop must not exceed 30 feet in length. One 10 foot long 10 inch diameter pipe will be supplied for the blower. The blower pipe should not exceed 10 feet in length. We will also supply 15 90 degree 3 inch elbows for the suction drops. There should be no more than three of these elbows per drop. Upon request, we can provide 45 degree elbows for the 3 inch pipe
